Run a team of coding agents

A team in Panorama is a frame on the board that holds several agents, gives them one shared chat, and lets an orchestrator route a goal and relay what each member reports. Here is how to set one up.

curl -fsSL https://getpanorama.app/install.sh | bash
A team on the Panorama board: a team frame with Claude as lead and Codex as reviewer, beside the team chat drawer showing the lead selector, the orchestrator switch and a relayed report.

Step by step

How to do it in Panorama

  1. Start from a template, or an empty team

Press ⌘K and choose Template: Feature crew. It adds a team with a lead, a reviewer and a docs console (using the agents you have installed), handoff links between them, a sprint board and the orchestrator switched on. For a blank frame, choose New team instead.

  2. Add members and roles

Drag consoles into the frame, or use + on the team to add an agent. In each console’s … menu, Role offers lead, builder, reviewer, tester, researcher and docs.

  3. Pick a lead

Choose Set as team lead on a member, or use the Lead menu in the chat. Pick Fan out directly if you would rather not have one.

  4. Open the team chat

Click the chat icon on the team frame and make sure the orchestrator switch is on. A chip on the frame shows when it is.

  5. Set a goal

Type it in the box and press ↵. The goal goes to a planner model if you have switched one on in Settings, otherwise to your lead, who is asked to state the assignments, or to every member when there is no lead.

  6. Read the reports

When a member finishes a stretch of work, its latest output lands in the chat as a bubble, and a notification tells you if Panorama is in the background. Switch on Relay reports (the sliders icon) and the lead’s report is passed on to the rest of the team. With no lead, everyone’s is.

  7. Set the guardrails

Under the same sliders, Relays/hr caps the messages sent to teammates (30 an hour unless you change it), Spend cap pauses the orchestrator once the team’s estimated tokens pass your limit, and Stale pause holds relays while a member has been waiting on you too long. A prompt that needs you is never relayed.

Good to know

  • To message everyone directly, use the megaphone on the frame, or press ⌘K and enter team api squad: run the full test suite with your team’s name.
  • The Team loop chip can nudge idle members back towards the goal every 10 minutes. It is off until you switch it on.
  • Export the chat as markdown from its header; it is saved under .panorama/chat in your project folder.
  • New to the board? Start with two agents side by side.
